i once heard a singer describe his musical alias as a village, as a place where he and his collaborators meet and make music. this metaphor resonates with me because it inverts the relationship between art and artist. rather than art spotlighting the artist—as is so often the case in our culture—the notion of a village positions the artist as a craftsperson working in service to art.
across + between is a collaborative space where, through ghostwriting, screenwriting, and filmmaking, i work to connect across and between cultures, ideas, and people, to tell stories that function as windows rather than walls.
